Standards seemed a bit off this round. Went to the Drawing Room for brunch. They ran out of tomato juice, no Bloody Mary in a Regis! Flies on food, missed order, stained napkin, they even had a vacuum cleaner running at one point. All these affected the experience. However service still good and friendly.

Staff was outstanding, location was superb. Food out of this world and the service was on-par with the St. Regis brand. Enjoyed our 3-day tremendously. You can imagine that the only negative was that it was too short of a stay. Already rebooked ourselves back in January!

We spent three wonderful days here. The rooms were magnificent and the house staff were amazing with their butler service. All the rooms were elegantly appointed and what you would expect from this flagship hotel. We met the owner at breakfast and he was so nice answering our questions and pointing out best breakfast items. The Brassiere Restaurant supervisor , Selva was so gracious in appointing to our needs. We saw Indian fish head curry one morning and asked where it was the next day and Selva said they rotate between ethnic choices but the next morning the Sous Chef Muhammad met us and said he would make Indian fish head curry to order. I have never had this before as we just dispose of the fish head in the US. The dish was very good and a lot of meat on the head and cheeks. The roti canai that came with it was also fresh and nice. Everyday we had the same table server, Marvin who was so attentive to all of our needs with coffee and fresh pressed juices. Marvin’s service was fantastic. We look to return to the St Regis based on how well we were taken care of and the overall experience and staff was fantastic.

I have not stayed with the St Regis brand before. This hotel may have converted me and certainly when I return to KL it will be too this property. The location is convenient, 5 mins walk (mainly insurers) to KL Sentral (the main transportation hub for the city) Which is where the train from the airport arrives and it is signposted. The hotel has a small shuttle bus between. Also 10 minutes walk to the adjacent Nu Central mid scale shopping mall - huge range of shops, small supermarket, beauty floor for treatment salons and various made spas and an excellent food court for reasonably priced local food. Behind the hotel is 2 minutes walk into the rapid transit MTR - this will take you the two stops up to Bukit Bintang or other city centre locations easily and cheaply. Also behind the hotel is the national museum which I highly recommend. Close by is the national mosque and various other tourist attractions, easily accessible by a short taxi ride. I recommend the bird park and the butterfly park, although depending on the weather it can be extremely hot. The hotel adjoins the St Regis Residences. They share the 6th floor pool deck which has a giant TV screen that slides back. When I was staying they did put the football on although I didn't really want to watch that from my pool bed! Grooms are spacious with high ceilings and light grey decor, with plenty of grey marble. Furnishings are very good quality. Bed linen superb. Tiny niggles in the room only: the pretty sofa it's actually not that comfortable and I requested a couple of cushions to improve that. There is no makeup mirror. The bath is attractive but difficult to relax in without sliding down into it! You can find it difficult to turn off the water once inside the bath because it is quite a stretch. Neither the bath or sink taps appeared to have hot or cold on them. Hot water took a very long time to run through the taps. There is aTV in both the bathroom and a large one on the wall in the living room, but neither are smart so you cannot cast from your phone or use any apps. I love the Japanese automatic toilet. Pod coffee and a selection of very good teas. Bed very comfortable. A/c very quiet. Butler service (shared but always extremely prompt) can help you with all sorts of things, for example, they will bring your tea or coffee to your room instead of you having to make it yourself with your mini bar! They will press a couple of clothing items for you, they will help you with packing and unpacking + any enquiries or assistance that you might need. "My" butler was superb. I would recommend you request that they give you the tour of the owner's art collection around the property, which includes Warhol, Miro and the stunning Botero sculpture on the ground floor. F&B extremely high quality. Plenty of choices for vegetarians and all cuisines, Malaysian, Asian or European. The factor which will draw me back to the hotel has to be the staff. Every single encounter that I had was efficient but friendly and gracious. Staff remembered my name and my preferences. I cannot fault any of them and have felt very at home during my stay. I wish I could extend.

The St Regis remains my hotel of choice in KL, but its popularity has also contributed to a reduction in service levels and hardware wear and tear. The breakfast venue needs to be moved, or renovated/expanded significantly. The spillover is into the elevator foyer and uncomfortable. I've not seen this at a St. Regis before anywhere in the world. The design capacity of the rooms and the breakfast venue was clearly mismatched. Having said that, the serving staff was great, never failing to notice empty glasses or clearing promptly. Some of the hardware in the room malfunctioned. Minor annoyances. The rooms remain best in KL and I was graciously upgraded to a suite. My Bonvoy status was recognized upon check-in. Reception staff tries their best but at rush hour seem to be overwhelmed. If the St Regis makes the requisite changes to maintenance, the breakfast venue and reception staffing levels, it shall remain my favourite KL hotel.
